Looking beneath the surface

The historical record of structural market events.

Delistings, token unlocks, liquidation cascades, whale flows, funding divergences. Brimstone records every one, measures what the price did afterwards, and tests whether the pattern holds up against BTC.

Measured, not predicted

Live from the Brimstone event store. Figures as of 25 Oct 2026. Every number comes from recorded events; none is an example.

3,056structural events recorded
8event types tracked across crypto and DeFi
4types with enough data to publish
2types with a tested edge vs BTC

Edge test: the move beyond BTC over the same window, one average per event day. A horizon passes with 10+ event days, at least 0.2% beyond BTC (round-trip costs), a t-statistic of 2 or more, and the same sign in the earlier and later halves of the record. 90d and 180d samples are still filling in.

Every event type, including the ones with no edge

An event with no edge is still useful: negative findings improve the database. Types below medium confidence or data quality are tracked but not published.

How it works

Collect once, analyse once, publish everywhere.

Collect

Independent feeds watch exchange notices, unlock schedules, liquidations, on-chain wallets, funding rates and DeFi pools.

Store

Each event goes into one store with its type, asset, lane, source, severity and a market snapshot taken at the time.

Measure

Prices are read at 1h, 4h, 24h, 7d, 30d, 90d and 180d, recorded as they happen, so coins that get delisted stay in the sample.

Grade

Each figure carries a sample size, confidence rating, data-quality rating and edge verdict. Only medium or better is published.

Built with Devin

Brimstone is run by one founder. Devin does the engineering.

65pull requests opened by Devin across the Brimstone repos
4production systems on one server: Brimstone engine, event store, hedged carry bot, Earnings Edge
24/7collection, measurement and alerting with no manual steps

What Devin built

  • Async Python/FastAPI engine with live SSE feeds
  • Unified SQLite event store, outcome engine and edge validation
  • React dashboard (Radar) with event explorer and charts
  • Telegram alert channels and Cornix routing
  • Deployments, cron jobs and health checks on Hetzner

What the credits would build

  • Postgres as the single source of truth
  • Separate internal Core and public Intelligence apps
  • Brimstone Pro: real-time alerts, full database, briefings
  • Self-serve data API with card billing
  • Content engine: every event becomes a post
